Sorbets are one of the best to ever exist. They’re soft, creamy and very tasty. It’s Summertime now and where I am the average daily temperature can be anywhere between 80° degrees to 101° degrees. With temperatures like that, I like to focus on three things when grabbing a sweet treat, hydration, cooling down, and being as healthy as possible. This homemade watermelon Sorba is the perfect summer treat for all three of those goals.
Sorbet are a great healthy alternative to the classic homemade vanilla ice-cream, which is chalk full of sugar, because it’s pure fruit and a sugar-free sweetener. To top it off, in this recipe, the fruit in question is watermelon.
Watermelon has been found to carry nutrients that can reduce blood pressure and improve circulation to the heart. It also reduces the soreness of muscle, helps manage weight, provides protection for your skin, and aids in digestion.

What you’ll need for your watermelon sorbet
Watermelon~ You need to use frozen watermelon but if your local grocery store doesn’t carry any you can freeze it yourself. All you do is cut your fresh watermelon into cubes, lay flat on a sheet tray, and place in freezer overnight.
Monks Fruit~ This will sweeten your sorbet but if you feel no extra sweetness is needed then you can skip this.
Lemon~ This will add a little bit of tanginess to your dish.
Water~ For your sorbet to blend you must have a liquid.
Tips:
Blender~ You’ll need to have water set aside if you don’t have a food processor. Add 1/2 a cup if you feel the need to as you go along.
Spatula~ This or something similar will be needed to scrape down the sides and push the unblended pieces to the bottom of blender.
